ICW Wins Public Information Dispute, BPKP Must Open BPJS Health Audit – Indonesia Corruption Watch or ICW won an information dispute against the Indonesian Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).
The information dispute hearing was held in Jakarta on Tuesday , the Indonesian Central Information Commission decided the audit results document related to BPJS Health as public information that was open and accessible to the wider public.
“With this decision, the public can access the audit results related to BPJS Health. There is no reason for BPKP or other agencies to cover up the information,” said Egi Primayogha, ICW researcher in a press release received by Suara.com, Wednesday (4 / 3/2020) morning.
The decision was important considering the management of the National Health Insurance (JKN) program by the Health BPJS, which is suspected to face a variety of problems. The government recently increased the membership fee of the BPJS. The move caused a polemic and was rejected by a number of members of the Indonesian Parliament.
Previously the management of the JKN program was also highlighted due to the deficit and bailout provided by the government.
“Audit conducted by BPKP is the basis for the government to determine the amount of the deficit and provide bailout funds,” he explained.
Egi explained, in mid-2018, BPJS Health was suspected to have a deficit of up to Rp 10.98 trillion. The government through the Ministry of Finance then gave a bailout of up to Rp 4.9 trillion.
In the same year, the deficit was again found at IDR 6.12 trillion. The Ministry of Finance is again injecting bailout funds up to Rp 5.2 trillion. The total bailout fund reached Rp10.1 trillion.
Meanwhile in November 2019, the government said it would again provide a bailout of up to Rp 14 trillion. Through this, it is known that the bailout funds to BPJS reach at least Rp. 22.1 trillion. As of the end of December 2019, BPJS also still experienced ICW Wins Public a deficit of Rp 15.5 trillion.
“So far the public has never known in detail and detail the point of problem in the management of the JKN program by the Health BPJS,” he said.
Therefore, with the opening of the results of audits related to the Health BPJS conducted by BPKP, the public can really know the management problems and assess whether the steps taken by the government, including the increase in fees is a reasonable step. So that the supervision of the JKN program can be done frankly. Bandar Ceme Poker Dewa
Previously ICW submitted a request for dispute resolution to the Central Information Commission after BPKP refused to provide documents on the results of the BPJS Health audit. The reason for BPKP is that the information is the type of information that is excluded.
“Therefore ICW asks BPKP to comply with the results of the decision of the Central Information Commission. BPKP must immediately provide the audit results document related to BPJS Health to ICW as a public information applicant,” he said.
